The Temporary Solutions Design Agency takes just one simple aspect of The Temporary Art Repair Shop and extrapolates it. It focuses on the creative ideas and designs that emerge in the process of making sculptures for the visitors of The Temporary Art Repair Shop. As a much more light-weight version of its big brother, The Temporary Solutions Design Agency is something I can perform for just a few hours if necessary, and requires only a table and two chairs. It works as follows:

The artist invites participants to describe a problem they want solved. It can be any kind of problem. It can be simply practical, deeply emotional, purely philosophical, and it can be anything from truly troubling to trifling. The participant is asked to describe the problem using words and drawn images on a prepared form supplied by the artist. The artist will then try to sketch a solution to the problem, also in the form of drawings and text, which will then be emailed back to the participant (and also mailed if this is requested). Both the problem and its solution will then be presented here on this blog.

The first edition of The Temporary Solutions Design Agency was performed as part of “Die Lange Nacht des Teilens und Tauschens” on Friday June 2nd 2016, during the first Kultursymposium Weimar, organized by Goethe Institute.

The second edition of The Temporary Solutions Design Agency took place at A Performance Affair, re:production, at the Vanderborght building in Brussels during Brussels Gallery Weekend 2019, on Thursday and Friday, September 5-6th. The performance was represented by Galerie Krupic und Kersting, Cologne.
